 COLLECTIVE HOPE

The artwork I do collaboratively stems from designing, implementing, and evaluating sustainable psychosocial peace building educational programs in four countries: Dieplsoot Informal Settlement, South Africa (nthabiseng project, 2001), Vishwa Shanti Vihara Vishwa Monastery, Nepal (Khelera Sikou Project, 2012), Jamaica (Irie Project, 2010), and Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya (Pambazuka, 2017).

NOTE: In this art portfolio, I have chosen ten pictures that illustrate this collaborative work.

Psychosocial Peace Building Educational Programs

UPDATED Figure 1 Psychosocial Peace-Buil

This program is three-fold:

  • To support the fundamental right of a children and youth voice in the classroom, community and the world around them;

  • To promote literacy through the use of story-telling, rewriting a new story and presenting stories to peers;

  • To strengthen social and emotional learning.

The core elements of the course: 1) Book-making/journaling; 2) Creating an Artifact; 3) Story-making/Story-telling and; 4) Co-creating solutions.
