STACI B. MARTIN, EdD
"Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief. Do justly now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it."
- The Talmud
COLLECTIVE HOPE

The artwork I do collaboratively stems from designing, implementing, and evaluating sustainable psychosocial peace building educational programs in four countries: Dieplsoot Informal Settlement, South Africa (nthabiseng project, 2001), Vishwa Shanti Vihara Vishwa Monastery, Nepal (Khelera Sikou Project, 2012), Jamaica (Irie Project, 2010), and Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya (Pambazuka, 2017).

NOTE: In this art portfolio, I have chosen ten pictures that illustrate this collaborative work.
Psychosocial Peace Building Educational Programs
This program is three-fold:
-
To support the fundamental right of a children and youth voice in the classroom, community and the world around them;
-
To promote literacy through the use of story-telling, rewriting a new story and presenting stories to peers;
-
To strengthen social and emotional learning.
The core elements of the course: 1) Book-making/journaling; 2) Creating an Artifact; 3) Story-making/Story-telling and; 4) Co-creating solutions.
